Best month to travel to Tanzania for Safaris
If you'd love to see as many wild animals as possible, you need to go during the dry seasons. Animals will go out looking for water, and gather around lakes and all water sources. The guides are then able to find them easily and you'll be sure to see as many as possible, but when is the dry season?
The dry season is from to May to October.
But this doesn't mean that you'll enjoy your safari only in the dry season, because for instance if you want to see rhinos, you'll get more chances to see them during the wet season.
Also, if you're travelling to witness the great migration, make sure to choose the right itinerary to be able to witness it, in general in Serengeti, but depending on the moth you travel, the herds will be in different locations and might even be in Kenya, and you might not be able to see them as the parks are huge and time is limited unless you stay for long enough. So make sure to check that with your guide when planning your tour.
Best month to travel to tanzania for scuba diving
If you're a scuba diver, you know that the Tanzania with the indian ocean is one of the best destinations for scuba diving and snorkeling.
For a great diving experience, we recommand to dive from september to march to avoid the rainny season. You can still dive on other months, but for sure you'll have a better experience withing these months, with good visibility and without freezing. Maybe freezing is an exagerated way to describe it, but in Tanzania, most of the time you do double dives, meaning you do two dives in a row, and if it starts raining or it's too windy, you might get cold and not enjoy the second dive, or get cold even during the first one. The sun also helps you get a greay diving experience.
Best month to travel to tanzania AND Zanzibar beaches
Same as scuba diving or snorkeling, you don't want to go to the beach while it's raining. Of course, you might get some rain even if you go in dry seasons, but there are less chances this happens than if you go in the rain season, so we recommend to travel and enjoy Zanzibar beaches from september to march, November and December can have short rain falls as well, but even in the rain seasons yo won't have it everyday all the time, so it's ok if you've already booked in these months.
